Community Update

Congratulations to our Girls’ Junior Basketball Team, who demonstrated grit, team play, and great sportsmanship this week at the regional tournament.

Coming up this Friday is World Down Syndrome Day- It takes place on March 21st because that is 3/21 and Down syndrome is caused by a 3rd copy of the 21st chromosome. People wear mismatched socks for World Down Syndrome Day to celebrate diversity and promote awareness about Down syndrome. The idea came from the fact that chromosomes look like little socks under a microscope, and people with Down syndrome have an extra copy of chromosome 21 (trisomy 21). Wearing bright, mismatched socks symbolizes that differences should be embraced and celebrated rather than seen as something negative. It’s a simple and fun way to start conversations about inclusion, acceptance, and the value of people with Down syndrome in our communities.

An outside agency named Wise Academy has booked the school’s Community Room for coding and robotics.  Register here for After-school Coding and Robotics Club for ages 6 to13. Starts on 26th March to 28th May 2025 on Wednesdays from 3.45pm to 4.45 pm.Programs by WIZE Academy at 613-415-8844.
